To Beard or Not to Beard

This is an interesting question.  Facial hair is something that at times can be a big deal.  Some guys feel like they are less of a man without their rough and rugged beard.  I know that I have been caught up in this question as of late and it is difficult for me to make my mind up.  This post is mainly so that I can show off a few of the different types of facial hair and their pros and cons.  (Of course these is just according to me)

The first type is just full on scruff.
This is definitely the easiest to have.  This is even easier than being clean shaven.  You just let it grow out and have a hay day with your face.  This is a very easy going look and can be nice to have but you can not let it grow for too long or else you look like someone who has lost contact with your children.

The second type I don't show off really well.  It is the Chops.  It is when you grow your sideburns all the way down past your ear.  I know a few people who have this kind of facial hair and all I am willing to say is that it is not for me.  So I guess no real pros.

This is sometimes called the Van Dyke.  The funny thing is that I could see myself wearing this for a while.  My wife does not like it in the least so I would never really do it.  I think I might sport it if I were going hunting with my in-laws but would shave it off as soon as I got home for her sake. The one major con is that the up keep would be more difficult.

The Soul patch.  I had a companion on my mission who had such a blond one of these that he never bothered to shave his off.  I always wanted to see what I looked like with one but I really didn't like it.  It will definitely not be a Justin thing.

Creeper mustache.  Need I say more....? I think not.

This style plagues he hallways of Junior High School all across the country.  It is what a frendemy once dubbed the half-stache.  This only happens when an inexperienced shaver doesn't ask someone who he loves if he missed a spot.

To wrap up our tour of.... well my face.... I will show you a clean shave.  Shave every day and you get this.  I guess I have really made my decision.  I will try to keep clean shaven but if I'm scruffy for a few days I won't have a problem with that.

The Doctor.

So this will show everybody what some of my blog posts are going to be about.  I have an unhealthy relationship with Netflix....... I do and I admit it........ but I will not stop.  These are a few of the shows that I was able to watch (this is just the tip of the iceberg)

  • Prison Break
  • Lost (with my wife)
  • Eureka
  • Warehouse 13
  • Medium (with my wife)
  • The X Files (one of my favorites)
  • Flash forward
  • Lie to Me (with my wife)
The latest show that I have been watching is Doctor Who?  It is a show about a time traveler who is not mortal.  He goes around in history and between world in his Tartis (time machine that alive).  He is almost always with a human companion who shares in the adventure.

Yes the original is a BBC production and a very old show.  BBC decided to do a remodel of the show back in 2005 and it has been a big success.  At least in my book it has.  British actors with Science fiction Fantasy...... what else could you ask for.  Another big perk is that the doctor will have to regenerate (change out his body if hurt) ever so often and you get a new actor.

Some may think that changing the main character would ruin the show but for me it has kept it alive. Right when you are starting to think that the stories are a bit old or repetitive a new Doctor shows up and takes the show in a new direction. Although my favorite at this point has to be David Tennant (The Doctor in the first picture).

The Tardis is disguised as a old style Police Box and it can take them just about anywhere.  One of the first episodes shows the Doctor taking Rose Tyler (his Companion at the time) to the end of the earth.  They watch from a space station as the sun burns it up.  Not really as sad as you might think.

Overall it is a great show.
Two thumbs up for the interesting stories
Two thumbs up for staying clean
Two thumbs up for great graphics
And Two thumbs Way way up for the Doctor!!

The Beginning!

The beginning huh.  Very original if you ask me!  I wanted to quickly introduce myself and a few of my favorite people.  So lets start with the most precious thing ever!

Cara.  My Wife!  She is the best thing in my life and I truly am the luckiest person alive to be married to this beautiful woman.  I love her more.

This is My Family.  They have been there through thick and thin and I will be with them forever.  They may be wacky but I wouldn't have them any other way!

My Inlaws.  I never thought I could grow to love a group of people who I did not grow up with so much.  They have taught me how to live a better life and I will always be thankful to them.

Me!  No not the pig I am the guy on the right.  I am crazy most of the time and have fun the rest of the time.  I hope and pray everyday that I can do my best and make everyone proud of me.
